Comments (I am not qualified to discuss the quality of film vs digital):

Biased towards film...

The 'limited field of view with same lens' fails to point out that one only needs to use a smaller focal length lens (if available) to achieve same field of view. However, since 180 degree lenses may be used, this leads to loss of top and bottom of circle.

In comparing costs or relating to expenses, no mention is made of the money saved by using digital since one does not have to pay for film, processing or scanning. In the three months I have owned my Canon 10d, I have taken more than 12,000 digital images and the money I would have spent for film and processing paid for the camera, 17-40 L lens and 180 Macro lens, four hard drives and so on.

Time frame: a digital photographer can deliver his qtvr 'almost instantly' while a film photographer may require many days or weeks.

Obsolescence discussion fails to point out that whole the film cameras may retain higher resale value they also entail extreme costs for film and processing that consumes this difference in value and may even exceed the actual new price of the camera. The digital photographer can invest that expense in more equipment such as lenses, computers, hard drives, monitors, etc. and thus an argument could be made that the true resale value should include the extra equipment that the digital photographer can buy for the same expense.

No comparison is shown of qtvr's produced of the same scene, one from digital and one from film. This of course would be the absolute determinant and over ride almost any other type of argument.

4D has included in its user license the agreement that the user agrees to an audit by 4D or anyone it designates as a condition for using 4D software. I discarded all of my 4D demo download as soon as I read that. How could I subject a client to that embarrassment or get sued for doing so?
