format of downloaded files?

Hi,
I have downloaded windows version VRMakePano.c library to but when I downloaded the file it had extension 'SIT'. I dont know how to open and use that file. As I am using VC++ 6.0 . I have downloaded the windows version of the quicktime api but that has 'hqx' extension. I dont know how to open this api and how to use it with vc++. kindly help me solve the problems.
