I need some helpful tips

I hope some of you have played Myst 3. They have the game set up similar to a QTVR with nodes but inside of the Game engine they rendered animations and put in video and while you pan around the cubic the animations and video are still playing and not moving from their fixed positions. I want to do something similar to that as well. Well I got a hold of the main Tech programmer who did that, Max Elliot of Presto Studios which no longer exists. He said that he could not do it with QT. So that is why he wrote his own software engine to do it.

Unfortunately QTVR w/ video always ends up looking like a "square peg in a round hole" solution.

However, along the same lines as the example you mention, The Anark plugin (and Anark Studio) is essentially a game engine that can be set up and scripted similar to Director. I have used it a bit, but unlike QuickTime and Director (except Shockwave 3D), it uses 3D acceleration from your video card to drive it, so it is not the most "mass-market" of plugins (and it is a plugin download when used on the web).

It is easy to map a Pano to a sphere in Anark and allow an end-user to move around inside it, but video and animations slow many lower end systems (ie: not having a gamer's video card) to a crawl, while static QTVR uses very little overhead.

If you are script-capable (along the lines of LSP Qscript and Lingo), take a look at it. And don't let the high list price fool you, they will readily make deals to get more users out there...
