This is just a small quirk (bug) I discovered with QT 5. PanoCube Plus allows one to take an equirectangular image and converts it to 6 cube faces, and then creates the QT movie. Panocube plus also allows you to specify the jpg compression level for each cube face individually. So, here is the bug which I found. I was doing a couple of panos inside a house with light walls, and I had decided to give cube face 1 a different compression level from all the other cube faces. When you do this, QT 5 will display that one cube face at a very slight difference in brightness. This happens even if the difference in compression is only 1%. When panning around, you actually can see the edges of the cube face. I had face 1 at 96%, and the others at 95% (I know, but never mind the high compression levels, that is not the point...). This bug occurs for me on Win XP and Win 98 with QT5, both the plugin and standalone player. The problem does not occur for QT 6. I also doubt that most people would notice this problem for an outdoor shot. Just a heads up. I say this because many here say that only QT 5 or higher for their cubics. If they view their own panos on QT 6, they may not be aware of what may happen.
