OK, we used to have stitched panoramic photos projected onto a cylinder and
the user was placed at the center of the cylinder, then got Cubic VRs where
user is inside a cube, so just 8 shots are enought to create the 3D view
arround the user
How about cubic objects too? That is have the camera ouside of the cube and
shoot just 8 pictures (with same color arround the object, so that the cube
edges aren't visible) arround the object instead of the many more that are
now usually shot for QuickTime VR objects?
Would that look way too ugly?
