I wrote a reply last week telling about my panos with 50mm lens using
24 shots. I made an error - actual final size is 3000 x 40000 - not
2000 x 40000 as earlier stated. That said, I do not have trouble stitching panos of this size with QTVRAS 1.0.1. I have a G4 with 2 gigs of RAM and I am running OS X and running QTVRAS in Classic mode. I align my images manually by habit. I never even try the auto alignment anymore. Maybe that is why it works for me? I am going to be using PTGUI for my new projects, but I have not started with that phase of production yet. I do have one friend who has the S2 Pro and another friend who has the 16mm fisheye Nikkor Do you think it would be a better choice than the 8mm on a D200 ??? I need to make a CYLINDRICAL image to be printed in a big plotter !!!Depends on what vertical FOV you need With the S2 Pro you will only get 86 degrees If that is enough you will get around 12.000 pixels wide panorama You could also use the 16mm on the 14N and get about the same size but with a FOV of 138 degrees.
