Re: Which pano head is good. Panosaurus or Nodal Ninja

My reccomandation: <http://www.pinnaclevr.com/> on top of the Manfrotto
300N rotator which is part of the 303plus setup.

I have been playing with the PinnacleVR for a month now. It is light and
sturdy. It is extremely precise, especially if you have multiple cameras
and lenses. It's advantage is that the settings (arm lengths) are all
pin registered, so switching lens/camera will not put you at risk of
misconfiguration.

For the Sigma you might want to consider a different solution, such as
<http://www.photopla.net/wwp0506/> - a modified Agnos (the original one
was to heavy to carry for long distance). I've adapted the same rig on
the Manfrotto 300N.

I fixed a Manfrotto Quick Release on the PinnacleVR Camera Plate like on
the modified Agnos, so I can switch easily between the two. When using
the 18mm-50mm lens I noticed that it is important to fix the zoom
position with a rubber or anything else that will not let the zoom move
in under gravity. I realized that when I tried to shoot my first 50mm
pano, in a church, in HDR (I was over ambitious, as this would have
yielded in excess of 400 pictures to merge and stitch, but I will try it
again at some point).

I've heard good things about the Nodal Ninja 3 and it is quite
inexpensive. I have no direct experience of it. If the budget is an
issue it is something to consider, and if the budget is not an issue,
buying it first to try if you can get away with it is a no-brainer.

Agnos has the MrotatorT series
<http://www.agnos.com/catalogo.htm?v_lingua=ENG&v_iss_web=0000000000000000755792081541&v_categ_lista=PR001&v_cod_art_sche=MROTATORTCPSHORT&v_vai_primo_art=SI>
though from the weight specifications it seems that they are still using
the same old heavy iron I have scrapped from my old MrotatorCP, and from
the picture at the above link it seems to me that the way the Manfrotto
Quick Release system is mounted is not compatible with the Manfrotto
anti-twist plate
<http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=216481&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation>
that I absolutely recommand if you are using a quick release system.
