Re: Drawing Wave for audio file

I am not positive I am understanding your need correctly, but you might want to check out the QSSP audio visualization component from TotallyHip: <http://www.totallyhip.com/components/qssp/>. For some examples using it, check out the Cornell Lab of Ornithology Website's Raven Viewer at <http://www.animalbehaviorarchive.org/ loginPublic.do>. You have to download the player and install the QSSP pluging and restart your browser (a few hoops to jump through), but it well worth it.

Hope that helps,

John

Hi All,

I want to draw a wave representation of an m4a or a MP3 file.
I want to draw the wave in few seconds.
The method i am using is taking value of sound from a callback function during playtime. But it takes the same time as needed for playing the file.
Is there any other method of reading audio file directly and get the audio values in seconds.
can i take audio values like this
ExtAudioFileRead( tExtAudioFileRef, &numberOfFrames, &tABL);
if so how can i retreive values from the buffer using an ordinary for loop till the end of the file?

                               Thanks in Advance
