Of course  not. You do not need to blend the zenith with a zenith image at +90.
You  only get it with a full circle image with no zenith shot. My pano was a 4 image on 5D with a shaved 10,5mm

I have also version 3.1 for testing right now and there is no change.

Remember that the 1.3 enblend has serious color shift/banding problems if you use 8bit.
It does not look like normal banding, I used to call it "dirty banding"
