Hi everyone,
I've been a subscriber to this discussion group for a while without
contributing yet. I'm new at doing full screen VR and have just
put together a page displaying some of the better ones. I'm in
Toronto, Canada, and most of my VR movies are featured in a local
blog about the city called torontoist. I have the proud nickname
of panoramaist.
As far as I can tell I'm the only person for miles doing full
screen VR - so I really appreciate this discussion group and all
the useful information the archive contains, even if I only
understand a portion of it.
Hi Tony,
Nice to "meet" you and see your work. Great stuff there! And, yes,
the distillery district shot is kind of creepy-empty with just those
two strolling into the side street. (Of course, this weekend it was
probably empty as well...)
I agree with Keith that the files are a little big for my sucky
Rogers internet (I've found 40% "Quality" in JPEG compression to be
just fine if the scene doesn't have much noise or little details to
mush out), and the addition of a preview track might be nice if you
want to keep the downloads at that size.
Oh yeah, and just so you know, there are a few of us in T.O. shooting
panos, and some (including myself) doing full screen VRs. I'll put
you on the mailing list for the next "Toronto Panoheads" meeting.
Actually, this is a good enough reason to get folks together!
So, anyone else in the GTA (or nearby and willing to travel) who
wants to meet some evening for beers and pano-talk, just email me
directly and I'll add you to the list. (BTW, if you live on Algonquin
Island, I have you on the list already... ;-) )
