In the interests of clarity, knowledge, and the general de-bunking of
myths, I'd like to point out that the supposed inventor of the
guillotine, Dr. Joseph-Ignace Guillotin, actually just refined
something that had been used for executions in many countries for
centuries before.
And the Doctor, who proposed this as a (relatively) humane interim
step towards banning the death penalty altogether, died of natural
causes in 1814.
And now, back to QTVR stuff...
