DV should be cool - DV over FireWire has no screen DMA.

Great. DV is what I'm dealing with.

(As an aside, does anyone know if it's possible to capture from two DV streams concurrently? I've looked for a way to do it, but it doesn't appear that the second DV device is recognized by QuickTime.)

I'm just suggesting having a valid gworld for your preamble to making your video channel as a work around that is harmless enough (with consideration) and has worked for me in the past few months...

I tried your suggestion, assuming I understood it correctly, and the behavior of the program didn't change. It still died with a SIGBUS every time (I didn't try the altered version enough to be sure that it wouldn't, like the original version, crash the machine outright every so often). The way I implemented the workaround you suggested was by creating the SequenceGrabber object, then creating a token QDGraphics object whose dimensions were just 32x32 and calling SequenceGrabber.setGWorld() with that QDGraphics. I then create the SGVideoChannel, determine the size of the frames it will be capturing, create a new QDGraphics object of those dimensions, and call SequenceGrabber.setGWorld() to make the new QDGraphics object the GWorld that'll be used during the recording phase. Did I correctly understand your suggestion, or did I diverge somewhere in there?

Thanks.
