Performance of Java Swing application on MAC OS X

The application which we are developing is Java Swing based, which is
expected to run on both Windows and MAC OS X(Version 10.2). Currently the
performance of application on MAC is found to be low when compared to that
of windows. The application is heavily threaded and has many features like
playing sound files, recording and some animations. The thread implemented
areas are found to be very slow on Mac and even sometime application hangs.
Is there any way to increase the performance of this Java-Swing based
application over MAC. Need some information about Hardware Graphics
Acceleration and the Non Virtual Machine parameter -XX:+UseTLE which is
advised to be used to have a better graphics and thread performance as per a
document from Apple (Java Development on Mac Os X). Need some information
about hwaccel_info_tool and also its download link.

Please do give information about Hardware Graphics Acceleration and use of
com.apple.hwaccel

Our System information :
MAC OS X (Version 10.2)
Memory : 256 MB
Processor : 600MHz Power PC G3

Cheers,

David Wilfred Frederick
