Re: MPEG1 to AVI, no audio (Alex Shaykevich)

Alex,

If you really need to automate the process...:

You could try to use one of the OSS freely-available MPEG CLI tools (or make some JNI glue) to get the demultiplexed audio, and work from there (convert the video and add the audio back, etc.). If you manage not to get any synch problems you'll get by.

Try some google or freshmeat.net to look for them, there are many MPEG1 demuxers, I use one called mpgtx (for different uses).

Best,

Daniel Giribet

Hi,

I'm trying to use MovieExporter to go from MPEG1 to AVI. I get the video, but no audio. I realize that QT doesn't demultiplex the video and audio tracks, but audio is still preserved if I make a self-contained QT moviem, but not an AVI. This actually pretty annoying.

Anyone find a solution for this problem when working with mpeg?

Thanks,

Alex
