Exporting using 3rd party component

Hi All,

I am new to the QuickTime API and I am working against some tight deadlines, so I hope you can guide me in the right direction for the tasks I am to perform. The primary task is to import an audio file using a 3rd party component and then export it again with some modifications like for instance cropping the file, changing the bitrate, etc.

More specifically I want to import WMA files using http:// www.flip4mac.com/ quicktime component and from these files make 30 second sample clips.

What I'm asking you for is to point me to some areas or classes of the API that could be relevant for me?

Thanks,
