Very true, I didn't however realize Apple restricted some to certain uses. I was hoping to find a resource listing what they are so I don't spend days trying things that aren't supposed to work given licensing restrictions.

I don't think there are many. AAC and AMR (NB/WB) were the only ones I inquired about. QCELP may be another one.
