Hi Amer,
Not possible since the QTJ libraries are wrappers on top of native code available only for Windows and Mac. There is no support for other platforms.
On that note, I think the dark horse is something like FOBS and possibly other, as yet unwritten, java ffmpeg wrappers. Since ffmpeg builds are available across a wide variety of platforms, there could be extensive cross-platform portability. Unfortunately, the lone FOBS JMF developer is overworked and working on his PhD simultaneously so progress there is very slow.
I do wish there was some way to push Sun more into this arena. With Java now being arguably the predominant desktop app platform, it's a real shame not to have more A/V options.
Cheeers,
Alex

Hello All,
I am wndering if there is a way to run QuickTime on Soalris. I read
articles on how to integrate QuickTime classes in a jar file into JMF. This
brings new functions to JMF using QuickTime ... Suppose that is done on
Windows ... no problem ..
I wonder what if that was tested on Soalris.
It would be ineresting to provide a pure Java solution to all plateforms.
(Note : JMF has no video capture support on Mac)
Regards
Amer
