Re: ARD quitting

Thanks for answering.  I'm not in control of my network DNS/DHCP, that's at the District level and as far as I know that hasn't changed.  No changes have been made here locally as far as infrastructure.  Again, one morning it worked and that afternoon it didn't.  Unless there is a way I can check and see if whatever ARD uses to communicate can still get through whatever port it needs.

Hi Minott;

Having the same problem here, but I've never been able to get the Scanner function to work right--methinks networking issues and funky DNS. Importing a CSV file works though.

Has there been any changes to your network? Specifically DNS?

hi all,

I have been using ARD 2.2 (v 7C31) since last year and have had no problems. I have computer lists all made, can control all my machines, all clients are 10.3.9 w/ 2.2 ARD client. 2 days ago ARD started quitting if I used the scanner. It would pick up my Admin computer, my WGM server and one or 2 machines and stop scanning. (I have 150+ machines which always were scannable). If I clicked to refresh/rescan, ARD would quit.

I threw away all prefs I could find - RD manage.plist, RD.plist in both Libray/prefs and Users/Library/prefs and reinstalled the software. Same symptoms. But I must have missed a pref somewhere because after I reinstalledl, it didn't ask me for a serial number.

Any suggestions.

Admin computer Mac OS X 10.3.9 (7W98)
