PostgreSQL conflict

I just noticed my logs filling up with crap because ARD is trying to use a private PostgreSQL install on my computer, where PostgreSQL is already installed. So the failed attempts to get it up and running repeat.

Will someone point me to a resource on how to correct - or disable - this?
