"Installing .dmg files"
<email@hidden">mid:email@hidden>
For example I want to install an Update of InDesign CS2 to 5
machines...
There is my .dmg and inside I have the "InDesign_Updater.app".
What can I do with this? How can I automatically let ARD 2.2 install
this to my 5 machines?
If the InDesign CS update is like other Adobe updates, it is an
interactive program (but I could be wrong). Personally, I would log in
to each machine, lock them, extract the update application, and use
the Copy function in ARD, making sure the check on the Open after Copy
box. Then, I would visit each machine manually (or with control) and
click through the wizard.
IF, it is a unattended update, you could copy it to the machines and
the run the Unix command:
open -a /Path/To/Update.app/Contents/MacOS/Update #that's from
memory... don't trust it
Now, if you need the structure in the image, use the above command to
run the program after you have mounted the image.
You need not be logged in if the process it automatic. If you have to
click stuff, it is best to be logged in.
NB: I wrote this late. Don't trust it too far. Read 'man open'.
