Re: Installing .dmg files

What if there is no .pkg contained in the .dmg?
For example I want to install an Update of InDesign CS2 to 5 machines...
There is my .dmg and inside I have the "InDesign_Updater.app".
What can I do with this? How can I automatically let ARD 2.2 install this to my 5 machines?

I had this kind of issue a few months ago. The best thing to do then is to take a snapshot of your machine before and after the install, using some utility like FileBuddy or another, then create your own .pkg file using some software like Iceberg. Then, deploy it normally using ARD.

I did this with Quark XPress 6.1 on a hundred Macs, worked flawlessly. But you have to take extra care when creating the package.
