Subject: Using ARD or Silent Install Script for Adobe SW and updates?

Dear list,
I saw plenty of discussion in the archives (July 2006) about how
ARD and
Adobe's Silent Install Script can be used to install Adobe's Creative
Package. Unfortunately, my company purchased Acrobat, Illustrator,
InDesign, and Photoshop as separate entities. Can I still use
either ARD
or the SIS to remotely push that software?
Also, since Adobe creates most of their updates (like the version 9.02
downloadable patch to Photoshop CS2) in a non-pkg format, ARD is
useless
to push the update. The users are using non-administrative accounts
(there is a local administrative account for , so Adobe Updater cannot
run on their profiles. I have talked to one Adobe rep about my problem
and he realizes that 1) the updates are not in pkg format; 2) the
updates throws files all over the place, and 3) there seems to be
no way
that the Terminal could be used to run the Adobe Updater (as either
root
or admin) in order to automatically update the Adobe applications.
Anybody have any ideas as to how the additional Adobe updates can be
installed?
Thanks,
Sean
