Very nice, but we will need to able to measure DC. I assume the audio
inputs are AC coupled?
I don't know offhand, but I believe you are correct in that assumption.
The Labjack is made by a smalll, windows only outfit, but they have
been very helpful to people interested in getting drivers working on
other platforms (like the mac and Linux)
These DAQs will be used in a course lab and will have to be supported
by university staff technicians. They will not be happy if I select
hardware without "official" support. That's just the way it is here.
If it were for my lab, I would have not problems with relying on
"community" support.
Ah, now I see. Sometimes community support can be better than from a
company. Linux vs Windows anyone? ;)
I can tell you that the LJ kext "just works" but also, if you're going
to use a LJ on a Mac, you're going to have to roll your own software
for it as well. This is also a consideration. I have a few applications
that I've done for it for which I'd be happy to share the source
code...
If you're going to be using this stuff in a simple undergrad lab
course, I would give the Pasco stuff a good hard look. They have over a
dozen types of sensors, software to go with it, and it does seem much
more suited to this kind of a scenario.
