Re: altivec.h

Apple's GCC should not require a altivec.h header to compile code written using the C AltiVec Programming Interface.

If an Apple web page says that it is required, then it is in error!

You can report such errors either through the bugreporter:

	http://bugreporter.apple.com

or through the webmaster

	http://developer.apple.com/contact/web.html

I suspect some of this leaked through because the FSF GCC requires that header. Some of our documentation for GCC is a direct import from the FSF mainline documentation. The rest appears to come from sample code, and is directed specifically at the Metrowerks compiler (for which it may also not be necessary.)

I filed a few bugs.

Ian
