Re: Package Manager on MacosX

This is excellent. It is very close to what I was looking for. Thank you for this really good site. Lots of other good stuff at this site.

Subject: Package Manager on MacosX

I am looking for a MacOSX package manager similar to synoptics (linux).
I want to read all the various packages that have been installed and
allow me to uninstall if desired. RPM also does this fairly well but
is not as good as debian based managers.

I have looked at fink commander and it seems it will only work with
packages it has installed. It does not find all previously installed
packages.

I have also looked at darwinports. It seems to be a command line
oriented package manager and may be my best bet.

What are your ideas.
