vecLib and Random numbers

greetings-

  i have an application that requires the fast generation of large 
arrays of  (pseudo...) random numbers. right now we engage in the old 
table-based skullduggery i learned back when i had to cram lots of 
stuff into the 8K of our PDP-8s...

i am tempted to put together some pRNGs that use the vecLib (i don't 
see anything in there already wrt/ rng) but wanted to make sure no one 
has already invented this wheel. anyone? bueller?
