I'm about to buy the IBM XL C/C++/Fortran compilers, with a nice academic discount, and I'm unsure of the differences between getting them from Absoft or straight from IBM. Absoft appears to throw in a debugger, and they also seem to license the compiler per machine as opposed to IBM's practice of licensing per user. If I went with IBM, what debugger could I use? Are there other concerns I should know about?
