Small note. NAT != firewall. Those NAT boxes often include some sort
of
vaguely firewall sort of protection but their value varies. Other
people
have ranted more eloquently than I am capable of today, but remember,
just
because you've got a NAT box doesn't mean you're safe. I implore
people
(esp. Mac OS X users) to use host level firewalling. Apple's built-in
firewall works pretty well and it's a good extra layer of security.
Just wanting in increase my knowledge on the subject, what is it that
differentiates a NAT box and a firewall?
