Re: CFD on Xserve clusters?

Shelly,

I looked into Fluent recently. (Thanks to everybody who sent me feedback by the way). The contact person there sent me this response:

Hello Brian,

At this time we do not plan to support Macintosh OS X. This could change as
there appears to be growing interest within our customer base, but the plan
to do it is yet to be made.

Regards,
Shane

Fluent has a small user base and large licensing costs so I think they are waiting for some industry to say "we want Fluent on OS X". The revenue that they generate from academia is much less so we don't have much pull. It wouldn't hurt to give them a nudge.

FEMLAB is a CFD option that does run on OS X. I haven't used it, but there are trial versions available.

Brian
