This is correct.

I spoke with an Intel engineer the other day and the issue is with the linker. If you install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of ifort BOTH will use the 64-bit linker. If you only need one or the other you can (although I haven't tried myself) do a custom install and only install that version of the compiler. If you install both, the 64-bit compiler will work (at least in my experience), 32-bit applications if they compile will crash at runtime if optimizations are turned on.

I've heard (although I can't provide an exact date) that a fix is coming very soon.
