Sherlock Channel Development Ground Rules

Dear Sherlock Channel Developer,

Sherlock channel development has taken off and we're thrilled. New
developers are registering on this list everyday, the volume and quality of
questions is increasing, and new channels are being announced regularly. All
of this bodes well for the future.

In the midst of this excitement I want to take a moment and remind you of
some ground rules for channel development:

1) While the code and/or source files for Apple9s own Sherlock channels may
be easily obtainable, as has been discussed on this list previously, copying
or redistributing Apple9s Sherlock code and/or source files, in whole or in
part, is not permitted. When developing channels, please use only the sample
channel code indicated in the 3Licensing Info Folder2 of the Sherlock
Channel SDK.

2) The exchange of ideas, investigation into the techniques of others, and
the sharing of code by consenting developers is encouraged since we want
this community to flourish. Nevertheless, understand that the Sherlock
Channel SDK license agreement does not grant you the right to use someone
else9s code or content without their express permission. Please consider and
respect the intellectual property rights of others when developing your
channels.
