Re: QTSS authorisation againts ldap

Apple no longer supports Darwin Streaming Server. Or if they do, they're
keeping it a secret.

Apple has never supported DSS properly.

There was some discontent expressed at this about 9 months ago, and
this was brought to Apple's attention. Shortly afterwards, in an
apparent response to this, Apple indicated (around WWDC time, which is
now 6 months ago) that the project would be reinvigorated and
re-launched under the MacOSForge.net umbrella, but that (like pretty
much every promise/statement made regarding DSS) has rung hollow so
far.

I was seriously considering a fork of some kind at a point int he
past, but put it on hold due to other commitments and the hope that
Apple would follow through. I might rekindle the flame in the next
couple of months.
