This is probably old news to you, but I've noticed two differences between
them which are worth mentioning:

1) RealPlayer actually supports interleaving RTSP/RTP. QuickTime goes from
RTP over UDP straight to interleaved RTSP/RTP over the HTTP tunnel.
RealPlayer, by default, does RTSP/RTP+UDP, then interleaved RTSP/RTP, then
interleaved RTSP/RTP+HTTP tunneling.

2) RealPlayer and QuickTime Player select different starting client RTP
ports. I'm might have it backward or totally wrong, but I believe QuickTime
Player (probably using reycled code from QTSS) will start with 6970,
whereas, IIRC, RealPlayer doesn't. Maybe the NetGear blocks by default what
they believe to be RTP serving?

Anyhow, that's where I start hunting the problem down, but I suspect you're
way past this.
