Where are the affordable MPEG-4 content creation tools?

Coming, I think. Lots of companies working on them (see the ISMA membership for some of the possible culprits).

My BIG question has been for a while now: is Apple one of those companies working on MPEG-4 tools?
And yes, what kind of tools, or if you may not answer that one, in what area's could Apple be a tools-supplier?
According to rumors Apple is working on something, but details are scarce . It seems obvious that QT will be a full compliant ISMA 1.0 player, but is it also reasonable to think that it can play a serious role in MPEG-4 production?

Now don't tempt me...you know we cannot comment on unreleased products on public mailing lists. Sorry.
