Just saw that DSS 4 now tries to add paths to the PATH environment variable
to enable launching of apps without specifying the full path.
This is not "the right way" to do it (I hate apps that do this).
Instead, you should add one entry for each application in the
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\"
registry path.
After doing that, you can start apps directly in the Start-Run box, or from
the command line using the "Start <Appname>" syntax.
The hardcoded "C:\Program Files\" path in the DSS installer should also be
banned and replaced with something more customizable, e.g. a set
TargetDir=XXX in the top of the installer batch file, where on W2K and later
there's even a default PROGRAMFILESDIR environment variable to use.
Just my 20 vre. (20/100 SEK, approx 2 US cents)
