Problems with streaming

I have big time trouble to get a live stream out of a Mac OS X server 10.0.4
with QTSS 3.01. Is there anything to look at specifically? VOD is ok in
RTSP, but live no way to get it to work. Although the server gets the feed,
it doesn't send it out. When trying to connect by opening the URL in
QuickTime player, it stays in 'connection' mode. It doesn't even show the
meta data in the player/
