Re: c-status 504?

The user may still show in the log when there are firewall problems. The reason for this is that streaming involves sending data on multiple ports in both directions. What's likely happening is that information (RTCPs) from the client to the server is not getting through causing the server to give up on the client.

Try setting the client to stream via TCP on port 80 in the QuickTime transport settings.

I found the explanation of the 504 error myself (gateway timeout) but still
am confused about what's wrong. Does the user have a misconfigured gateway?

Subject: c-status 504?

Hi all,

Can someone tell me what a c-status of 504 means? A user complained about
not being able to see content on my darwin streaming server, so I checked
the logs and I encountered a 504 (just with him, not with others). First I
thought my firewall was blocking him for some reason but that's not the case
(otherwise he wouldn't even be in the logs, right?).

Thanks,

Stef
