Hi,
My experience has been that the DSS 4.1.1 binaries work fine on RH 8,
but you'll run into problems compiling the source if you're using the
default developer tools. It sounds like maybe you were able to get the
source compiled, so I'm not sure what exactly is causing your problem.
But yes, the binaries should work fine, I believe.
