I am having problems starting a QT video when I click on a URL that points
to a file on a local QTSS server.
I am running Window XP and I use IE 6.0.28 and have installed QT V6.
1. If I go to the Apple web page
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/gallery/mpeg4.html I can click on any of
these movies and my QT client starts and plays the video. I notice that
these are Fast Start Downloads.
2. I have an .mp4 file on my PC and if I click on the file it will start QT
client and play the video.
3. If I make a URL that contains the .mp4 file and click on the link, a QT
window opens inside of IE and plays the video.
The above tells me that my Windows and IE are set to display QT video.
4. Now if I try to display a .mp4 file that is on our local QT server I get
an information page that says "The page cannot be displayed"
The following html code is on my local web page and I would think should
point to our rtsp server and start up the QT video.

The strange part is that if I start the QT client on my local machine and
cut and paste rtsp://xxx.yyy.purdue.edu/ee595tp/hq/Test2.mp4 directly into
QT client under the "open a new URL" the video starts to play. This tell me
that I do not have a permission problem
MY QUESTION: What would cause the html code above not to start the QT
client?
