Now that I've got round to reading the log in (shock, horror ;-) MS Excel, I can see what I want. Looks like a Perl script needed to syphon out just the fields of interest....

Thanks Joel, I was aware of 3rd party log analysis, but since we're not into commercial billing of server load, & nobody's exam marks (yet) depend on having listened to any file, those are pretty low on our list.
