Re: Streaming .avi file with Darwin

Hi,
Darwin Streaming Server can only stream hinted QuickTime movie files
(.mov extention). If you want to stream an AVI, you'll have to import
it into QuickTime Pro and export the movie as a hinted QT movie.

Since QT6 wasn't able to play the movie locally, you probably won't be
able to export the file as a hinted QT movie. You'll need to reencode
the movie with a different codec (*standard* MPEG4 would work, not
DivX).

As for the streaming errors.. Only the Quicktime player is compatible
with our streaming server, and the error that it reported is normal for
this type of problem (unsupported media type.)
