Joel,
You are right, it is the firewall at work. I am a bit confused by your
statement, that the http transport looked great. What url did you use to
initiate the stream over http?

Chris,
I think your problem is that at work, your requests are being blocked by
a firewall (not the one you set up at home). The workaround is to
stream via HTTP/port 80. (This is "true streaming", its just tunnelled
through the HTTP protocol.) From Apple, I was able to view your movie
using both HTTP and UDP transports. But, the UDP transport got A LOT of
packet loss, whereas the HTTP transport looked great. Normally I would
think this is caused by firewall/NAT problems with passing the UDP RTP
or RTCP packets correctly.. but when I ran a sniffer, it looked like I
was getting all of the necessary UDP packets.
So using HTTP/port 80 should be an effective workaround for you, but I'm
not sure what needs to change for UDP transport to work correctly. To
get around the firewall, you'll have to relocate any web server that's
already using port 80, enable "streaming on port 80" in QTSS, and make
sure your NAT is configured to map incoming port 80 requests to the QTSS
machine.
You may also have the option of mapping incoming port 80 requests to
port 554 on the QTSS machine, which wouldn't require any changes to the
QTSS or web server configurations.
