Re: Corrupt QT file -- HELP!

Jason Cole <email@hidden> asked:

3) Anyone running a regular streaming schedule and using Qt Broadcaster? I seem to have a problem with corrupt SDP files. do I need to delete those after each lecture?

I have managed to use the same .sdp file for 3 weeks now, no trouble, stopping & starting broadcaster.

But today another problem arose:
QTBroadcaster coughed, paused for about 2 seconds, then the cursor started spinning, cpu load showed 100%. After a minute of this I force quit Broadcaster, but it would not restart. I couldn't log out, BSOD, force rebooted, then checked logs:

for some reason the Broadcaster machine decided it wanted to check its name with DNS, for another reason it couldn't connect to DNS, so it threw a hissy fit :-(

During all this a QTPlayer client remained connected to the Streaming Server, and resumed playing program as soon as it came back on line. And we still run an analog tape backup ;-)
