Hello Joe and others,
Thanks for the reply.
Where do I get the native MPEG4 codec? I imported a mpeg file with QC
and exported it into mp4 file, it only contains the video but no sound.
Is that mp4 file coded by MPEG4? Why is there any sound? What software
you recommend to make the right mp4 files for DSS?

Subject: Re: Streaming .avi file with Darwin
Hi,
I need to correct something I said earlier: DSS serves native MPEG4
(not DivX) files in addition to QuickTime movies. The files must be
"hinted" MPEG4.
Also, the QuickTime Player is not the only player that is compatible
with our server. There are third party media players that support
streaming from DSS, using MPEG4 or other open codecs. However, Real and
WM players aren't 100% compatible with DSS for movie streaming.
