RE: Darwin 5.5.1, QT Broadcaster and 3gpp2

I don’t believe it to be a player issue as I can achieve sync with other apps, just not QT Broadcaster.

Just to clarify, you’re in sync while doing live streaming from tools other than Broadcaster?

Subject: Darwin 5.5.1, QT Broadcaster and 3gpp2

Hey folks-

I am using quicktime broadcaster, on a g5 power mac, live streaming to Darwin Server Version 5.5.1.

For the life of me I cannot seem to get solid a/v sync on a handset player (Qualcomm’s QTV Player) on a Kyocera Phone.

My config is as follows, Mpeg4-LATM 16kbps 16khz audio, Mpeg 4 video, 10 fps, Keyframe every 100 Frames (10 secs). Medium Quality Setting, 176x144 and limiting data rate to 128k (for Evdo Capable handset on Evdo Network).

I have played around with the packetizer in all different settings, no luck, but it does seem to have an effect.

It DOES play sync’d in QT 7.0 and Real 10, but just not the player handset.

Using Envivio’s encoding solution I can achieve perfect sync.

VOD content streamed is synced and does just fine, live streamed content varies and actually seems to drift over time and if it is in sync, its only close, never really locked and if I come back a few hours later, its toast again..

Does anyone have any relative experiences, or thoughts or input as to how to resolve this issue?

I don’t believe it to be a player issue as I can achieve sync with other apps, just not QT Broadcaster.

R
