We started streaming Montana Legislature's Special Session yesterday.
Had many positive comments from users about how "sharp" and "clear"
everything was compared to last session. All this running less than
100 Kbps per connection, almost half the bandwidth from last session!
Heres's the setup:
3 G4 (blue) 1 GB RAM boxes
3 Canopus AVD 110 Analog to Digital converters
Broadcaster 1.5
H.264 encoder
Frame Rate 8 fps
KeyFrame every 75
Limit bandwidth to 150 Kbps
All pointing to a Blue G4 Server running 10.3.9 QTSS exclusively
Here's our site, if you get a chance in the next few days come visit:
http://www.opi.mt.gov/Streamer/Legislature/
For comparison, the local television is broadcasting with REAL at 700
Kbps very fuzzy, lots of freezes.
