| Hello everyone - First an introduction - my name is Fred McKinnon ... among other things, I own a web hosting/multimedia company. We primarily use Linux servers with RHEL3 and the "Plesk" control panel. I'm a 100% Mac-user, and have been a Mac user as long as I've been working with my company. I was reading on Apple's site about Darwin - - - seems that it can be installed and used on our Linux servers ... but I have a client who is wanting to broadcast their church services "live" via QuickTime streaming. I need to find out - assuming we could configure Darwin on our servers ... what software/hardware requirements would be necessary for the customer (broadcaster) to have at their location? Obviously - I assume he'd need a Mac, and of course, a high-speed internet connection? Then - what about any special software, etc ... and is there an overview of how I would configure the server to accept his "live" stream? Basically - they want to put their entire church service on their website "live". Thanks for helping a newbie to "live streaming" ... I've been doing MP3 streaming (via .m3u), and have done Realnetworks streaming rtsp:// for years ... but have yet to be asked to provide live streaming for QT. Thanks!
