Hi,
I'm new to DSS and am having a few problems trying to broadcast to
the streaming server from outside of the network that it's deployed
on, live streaming works fine when I'm broadcasting on the same
network.
DSS is installed on my home network behind a firewall (open ports
described below) and I'm attempting to broadcast to the server from
an external location using QuickTime Broadcaster on a G4 Powerbook,
I'm using QuickTime player to test the stream.
I have QuickTime Broadcaster set up to use the following settings:
Transmission: Manual Unicast
Audio port: 5432
Video port: 5434
When I start broadcasting I'm not getting any errors in Quicktime
Broadcaster but I'm not sure if my broadcast is being received by
DSS, I couldn't see any way of monitoring received streams through
the admin interface. Is there any way of checking this?
In QuickTime player I've tried using both the 'automatic' transport
setting and setting it to explicitly use HTTP Port 80.
When attempting to connect to the SDP file using HTTP I get a
'5420' error, when using RTSP I get a 404 error.
I'm interested in knowing if there's anything obviously wrong with
my setup, and if not, advice on how to debug the problem would be
much appreciated.
Cheers
Adam
