Dear Prathap,
For extracting mpeg4 data, you would find ffmpeg and
mencoder useful. ffmpeg is known as the fastest
video/audio coder and decoder. mencoder in the other
hand is a great software and you could decode almost
all video(s) by.
Anyways, for broadcasting video, I prefer to use mpeg4
itself. You could use mp4v codec for broadcasting live
mpeg4 video.
Please specify your A/V source, e.g. capture card,
DIVX file storage or etc.
