Howdy,
Sounds like you have a firewall, proxy or NAT issue. Questions I'd
be looking for in order to make more out of this are; is your
network designed with a DMZ or are you using a cable/dsl service?
Are you running mutiple instances of DSS with different streams
while having them try to stream through the same port at the same
time or do you have another server [eg: IIS] running on port 80 as
well? If you are cleared on all covered so far, this might be an
issue wih the firewall on the clients side. Let me know how things go.
warm regards

Subject: Problems viewing video from DSS 5.5.4 outside network
Hi,
When trying to connect to a video file from outside our network,
Quicktime tries to connect, then disconnects with a 10060 error.
I have the server set up to stream on port 80, and mp3 playlists are
coming through fine.
We are running DSS 5.5.4 on a Windows Server 2003 box.
Here are a couple of links for people to try out:
mov file: http://media.shs.eriding.net/bbc_news_13_03_08.mov
mp3 playlist: http://media.shs.eriding.net/jon
I have had a look through the archives but could not find anything
there that would seem to address this issue I am having.
Any thoughts?
Jon
